Who is your typical tour participant?

In Splendid Company specialized in tours for women. Average age is 35-65 but we welcome all ages, above 18 years old. Our clientele is varied, from mothers and daughters, sisters, book groups, solo travelers and friends. Some women are single and want to make new friends while they expand their horizons. Some are married and their partners just aren’t interested in travel. We offer a safe and companionable small group setting to explore and enjoy all that Italy has to give!

What about men, can we come too?

Of course! We offer mixed group tour dates as well, so you can travel with us no matter who you are!  We also offer specialty tours catering to LGBT groups, families (participants must be over 18 years old), corporate retreats, and groups of friends; just have at least 8 people and we can plan something truly memorable!

What should my fitness level be?

Positano and the Amalfi Coast are nearly vertical landscapes, so while you don’t have to be a mountain climber, you do need to be able to climb stairs. We typically cover around a mile or two of walking on our excursions. However, there is always the option to take a break in a cafe or garden and rejoin the group later. And you can always opt out of an activity altogether and relax on your terrazzo all day! No refunds however will be given for any activities you choose to not participate in.

I have a special diet, can ISC
accommodate me?

We will do our best to accommodate any special needs or dietary restrictions. Not all requests can be fulfilled however, so please let us know well in advance and we can make any possible arrangements.

I don’t speak the language!

Don’t worry if you don’t speak the language! Your guides and drivers are bilingual and many Italians speak English. But please consider picking up a phrase book, it will really enhance your experience!

What if I am traveling alone?

You won’t be alone in our group! In Splendid Company is just that, an inclusive and companionable group. So unless you want to slip off to a corner of the garden to read a book or nap in the sun, you will always have a friend nearby. Even when there is no group activity planned, your tour operator will always be on hand for company or advice.

I want to see or do something not on the itinerary!

Although we have many delightful activities planned for you, there is also plenty of free time to relax or explore on your own. We have one day dedicated for you to follow your heart. Want to experience Pompeii’s ruins? Take a ferry to Capri? Walk the Pathway of the Gods? Learn watercolor techniques from a local artist? We can make the arrangements for you, although these excursions will be at an extra charge. But please do let us know in advance!

What if I want to stay in the area a little longer after the tour?

You just might never want to leave! We can certainly help you book into a hotel for a longer stay, and with the things you’ve learned on our tour, you will have plenty of information to enjoy your extra time here!

What do I need to bring?

You will need some comfortable shoes, first and foremost! Of course your passport, tour documents and some clothes that travel and layer well. Once you book we will send you a confirmation with information about what to pack, how to change money and more. And plenty of useful links and goodies to help get you even more excited about your trip!
